Born and raised in the city of Chicago, Yali is the oldest sister in a family of 5. She attributes her strong work ethic to her parents’ example, and her family is a very important part of her life. She spends a lot of time helping her two nieces and five nephews with homework during the week and taking them to the playground on the weekends.

Yali and her partner have two dogs, Mateo and Diego. They love trying new restaurants, especially during the summer, and traveling to beaches. Thailand and Greece are next on their list.

Health and fitness are very important to Yali; she practices sculpt yoga and is currently training for her third marathon. She frequents Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood to support local artists and listens to a lot of podcasts, mostly on finances. She also volunteers at the local dog shelter (CACC) a few times a year.

Yali does talks and workshops at different universities, often through their Diversity and Inclusion Departments. She believes “We all know the right thing by the way it feels,” and has felt from early on in her training that her critical thinking abilities and love of working with people align perfectly with her role as a financial planner.
